The Four Agreements
Don Miguel Ruiz
About this book
Drawing on ancient Toltec wisdom, Don Miguel Ruiz identifies four agreements that, if practiced, can transform life from suffering to joy: be impeccable with your word, don't take anything personally, don't make assumptions, and always do your best.
Key themes
- Be impeccable with your word: the power of spoken commitment
- Don't take anything personally: others' actions are about them, not you
- Don't make assumptions: ask and communicate clearly
- Always do your best — and let your best vary day to day
- The domestication of humans: how we are trained to live by others' rules
